Shin Megami Tensei V
The Throne of Creation is an object held within the Empyrean that gives it's user the ability to manipulate the rules of the world.[3][4] Originally, gods from across the world were engaged in an endless battle for the right to control the Throne, but this changed with the rise of the Creator.[5][6] In order to solidify his rule, the Creator instituted the Condemnation, which sealed the Knowledge of his fellow deities within the Garden of Eden, rendering them Demons who were unable to access the Empyrean or the Throne held within.[7] This led to a period of peace where demons were forced to accept submission to the angels, because no one was able to challenge their authority.[8] However, the Creator's plan was thrown into disarray when the serpent tempted the humans living within the Garden to eat the fruit of the tree of Knowledge. In doing this, the lost power of the gods was bound to souls of humankind for generations to come, attracting the attention of the fallen demons who would attempt to regain their true form in spite of the Condemnation.[9] Ultimately, the Creator was defeated by Lucifer in the war of Armageddon and the throne was left without an user until the power of the Nahobino resurfaced 18 years later.[10][11][12][13]
The Throne is attended by Amitabha, who serves as the light of creation, an impartial herald who announces the birth of the new world.[14] He is assisted by the Goddess of Creation, who is tasked with guiding the Nahobino to the Throne.[15]
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
The Throne of Creation was originally claimed by the god Marduk after he defeated the primordial goddess Tiamat. The establishment of his rule led to the creation of a world of order, where the Horned Gods would have perpetual control of the world through the implementation of a curse which banned snake gods from utilizing the Throne's powers.[16][17] This had an indirect effect on human culture, which transitioned ancient egalitarian society towards authoritarianism.[18][19] In response, the Qadištu were summoned by the demon Samael, in order to destroy the world alongside the Throne in order to return existence to chaos under the Mother Goddess Tiamat.[20][21][22]
Trivia
- In Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, it's stated that Baal obtained the Throne from Zeus when he relinquished the Throne to him.[23]
- In Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, there is a distinction made between the Throne of Creation and the Mandala System. Samael explains that the Mandala System existed prior to the Throne and suggests that it allowed the Throne to be cursed because it did not interfere with the continuation of the cycle.[24]

His attempt revealed a new truth to us: a curse placed upon the throne, rejecting any who bore the divine aspect of a serpent... A scheme weaved by the bull god and original ruler, Marduk. Thus, Atum gave up his divinity as the sun god, and instead passed the power of Ra to Amun." Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Developed by ATLUS.

- ↑ "Narrator: Long, long ago, before these creatures known as “humans” gained Knowledge… The God of Law seated Himself upon the throne of creation. He seized all Knowledge from the other gods, rebuking them, so they could never dare to approach the throne… …reducing them to mere ‘demons.’" Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Zeus: How dim are you? You realize with the Creator gone, we might as well drop the pretense of an alliance altogether. / Vasuki: True, I see no merit in joining forces any further. Lord Shiva has in fact expected this, and is already preparing our next move. / Khonsu: See for yourself the Creator’s ‘almighty’ handiwork. See how the earth’s inhabitants lament their injustices and buckle misfortune. Had we the authority, we would create a world of gladness, where all are treated with equity and compassion. / Zeus: If the Creator’s dead, his throne ought to be free for the taking. At least, that’s how it should work… Bah! I’m sick of hearing babble from that winged wench and her automatons. / Odin: Long ago, the Creator, in his boundless arrogance, issued an edict of Condemnation, damning all gods to primitivity. This Condemnation forbade the existence of Nahobino outright, thus preventing any challenge to his reign. Oh, how I long to break free of this curse… But wait, are you not a Nahobino? How could you have broken the shackles that bind us? / Vasuki: The time of great undoing is upon us. The word of Lord Shiva has been spoken. I must say, this world of flaws and contradictions, fashioned by an absentee ruler, is long overdue for renovation." Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Koshimizu: Well you see, the Creator sealed the demons’ Knowledge within the Garden of Paradise, inside a forbidden tree. But then came a serpent, who tempted the garden’s inhabitants to eat of the tree’s fruit and thus consume its Knowledge. From then on, that Knowledge was bound to the human soul, and is still passed down throughout the generations. Or so the tale is told. Thus, we can conclude Itsukishima had inherited such Knowledge. / Yuzuru: Does this mean the Knowledge of all those lost gods is flowing through us, too? / Koshimizu: It is very well possible. In any case, the demons of then and now yearn to reclaim what was lost, and so seek human souls. Yet the union of man and demon remains prohibited." Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Arioch: Very soon, what divine spark may be left in this world will heave its final cry. The throne is now godless. The time to claim Knowledge and reform is at hand!" Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Tao: One side desires the throne for a land reborn anew, while the other pines for the world of old. Such a position of power cannot remain vacant for eternity. A leader must rise and take it. You must take it." Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Zeus: If the Creator’s dead, his throne ought to be free for the taking. At least, that’s how it should work…" Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Koshimizu: The Throne of Creation lies at the pinnacle of Empyrean Heaven or simply the Empyrean, as it has become known. That is where the Creator would be now, were he not ousted by Lucifer, as was claimed. Only Nahobino are allowed in the Empyrean’s sacred space. As such, none have entered thus far." Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Goko: Yes, this makes the birth of a new creator, a new world in his image. My true name is Amitabha. I exist to serve as the light of creation. Now, let your will be done. By the power of the throne, may your ideal world be revealed! He has chosen! The order of God shall be preserved! May light shine upon the new world!" Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Tao: I am the goddess. I exist to guide the Nahobino to the throne. I am grateful, Nahobino. It is thanks to you that I will soon serve my purpose. This way, please. Take the throne and become the new ruler of this world." Shin Megami Tensei V. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Lilith: A very long time ago... there lived a primordial Goddess. A most benevolent mother who gave birth to many gods. She was a kind mother. And noble. She disliked conflict and violence. But then... The Horned God came... Seeking his throne, he slew all in his path. And the mother was cut down. Since his rise... the throne has been usurped by descendants of that horned god. For eons upon eons." Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Developed by ATLUS.

- ↑ "Lilith: The perception of that fair, beautiful, free world of chaos became warped and perverted by the reign of so-called "order." We want it back. We wish to restore that glorious world." Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Saturnus: I suppose that is good enough. And it seems that Zeus still has no interest in the throne. I heard that he once surrendered the throne to a provincial god called Baal. Ha!" Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Developed by ATLUS.
- ↑ "Samael: Are you aware that it is the first ruler, the bull god Marduk, who is responsible for twisting this world? He placed a curse upon the throne such that his reign would persist, even should his rule be challenged. And the system that governs this world allowed it. Perhaps because it would not stymie the continuation of the cycle... Therefore, we, the followers of the serpent, seek to erase that curse, the system, and this world that has been wrought with oppression!" Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Developed by ATLUS.
