Human is a recurring Race in the Megami Tensei franchise.
Profile
The Human Race is composed of human beings, including those with supernatural abilities and the human forms of supernatural entities. These are generally characters of the game's story as opposed to real, historical or mythological figures, which exist under other Races. Humans often have the ability to summon or otherwise lead their own Demons in battle. Unlike Demons, Humans tend to have individual Alignments, though it is common for Humans to be or begin as Neutral-Neutral. It is also common for Humans to share a set of resistances or have them determined through other means, such as equipment.

Most of humanity, save for the few in the Shinjuku Medical Center, die in the Conception. These surviving humans are the only ones in the Vortex World capable of developing a Reason to shape the creation of the new world, while the souls of the deceased either remained incorporeal in the Vortex World or became Manikins.
Humanity possesses the unique ability of Observation. This allows their understanding to shape the form of gods and demons. Humans are also the only beings capable of killing these entities, which is why demonic factions are interested in their support.
Humans came to possess the Knowledge that was stripped from the Nahobino during the Condemnation after the serpent infiltrated the Garden of Eden and tempted the humans to eat the fruit of the tree in which that Knowledge was sealed, causing the humans to be banished from Eden.
Following the Conception, much of humanity died, save for Tokyo, which was preserved with the Shekinah Glory. Though with the death of the God of Law, the Shekinah Glory begins to fade, and the recreated Tokyo becomes a target for Demons seeking to reunite their Life with the humans' Knowledge and become Nahobino.
The inhabitants of the Junkyard are infected with the Atma virus, giving them the ability to transform into Demons.
