Okina City is a location in the Persona series.

Profile

Okina is a large city to the north of Inaba. The two cities are separated by Mt. Yasogami.[1] Thanks to the presence of a fairly large shrine, Okina was able to flourish as a city built around a shrine. It is also known for having an abundance of quality spring water. In the past, there was a papermaking industry. More recently, it has become an industrial area due to multiple companies building factories there. And with the workers bringing their families to live there, more retail areas aimed at younger people were built around Okina Station. Presently, it is known as a trendsetting city and has a population of around 250k.[2]

Persona 4 Golden

The protagonist, Yosuke, and Kanji visit Okina City on June 15th during "Operation: Up Close and Personal".

At first, Yosuke assumes that girls will naturally come to them because of their Scooters. While they stand there and wait for girls, Kanji goes to visit a craft supply store. When he returns, he finds Yosuke and the protagonist still standing there. Their attempt to attract girls was unsuccessful, so Kanji instead suggests they turn this into a competition. The three split up and try talking to girls around the station and try to get their phone numbers. In the end, all of the guys are unsuccessful in their attempts: The protagonist either gets no phone number or receives the number of a girl's boyfriend, Kanji receives a phone number for a paid service, and Yosuke is given Hanako Ohtani's phone number.

After taking three scooter rides on his own around Inaba, the protagonist can ride his scooter to Okina during the afternoon and gains access to the features listed under Gameplay.
